The
'Lynx' container system
The 'Lynx' container
system is a patented* plant container product
that allows the designer to make a fully-linked,
integrated plant display from a set of simple
components.
Invented
by scientists at Rentokil Initial's Research and
Development facility, the idea was to create an
infinitely flexible and changeable container system
that could be used in ways never previously considered.
The ‘Lynx’ container system is designed
to be lightweight, strong and easy to assemble.
Its finish, in high grade acrylic-capped ABS,
is scratch and dent resistant and is available
in a wide range of colours and patterns. The design,
whilst being unique, blends in with existing container
styles.
The ‘Lynx’ container system is fully
compatible with all commonly-used subterranean
irrigation systems, hydroculture and semi-hydro
growing techniques.
The
benefits of the system include:
-
The system is infinitely flexible: it can be
made into troughs and landscape beds, it can
be formed around corners, pillars or reception
desks and it can be used to divide a room or
mark pedestrian routes.
-
The sectional nature of the product means that
a display can be made up with many different
coloured panels, e.g. corporate colour schemes.
-
Damaged panels can be replaced easily without
having to replant the container.
- Replacement
plants can be inserted, pre-planted into inner
pots, and old plants removed without having
to dig out old compost and risk making a mess
on the carpet.
-
The acrylic-capped ABS from broken or discarded
panels can be recycled. The inner container
can be made from recycled plastics.
