Devonport House, Greenwich, London

Devonport House is a residential conference centre located in the historic Greenwich World Heritage site and used to form part of the Admiralty's complex of buildings there.  Most of the building retains its period character, but there is a modern addition to the site that incorporates the reception, a restaurant, training rooms and rest areas.

New plant displays have just been installed around the entrance, which relate to the interior plants in terms of the style of the containers and colour of the foliage.  Here, the designers (Kenneth Freeman and Sue Lucas of Rentokil Initial) have used a variety of containers to create a gradation from short to tall, round to square and dark to pale, which gives both a sense of continuity and variety.
