Atrium
in a research and development facility
These are pictures
of stunning plant displays in the atrium of Schlumberger Cambridge
Research Ltd., a famous building near Cambridge, England.
The building, constructed in the mid-1980s, was designed by
Michael
Hopkins and Partners. The central 'atrium' joins
two wings of the building housing offices and laboratories.
The atrium is roofed by a Teflon-coated fibreglass tent-like
structure that allows in a vast amount of diffuse natural
light. This space is used as a meeting area, place to
relax and to carry out large-scale tests of oilfield exploration
equipment.
