Shaw
Tower, Vancouver
These images are
of the entrance lobby of an upmarket residential tower in
Vancouver, Canada. The plants are a combination of Sansevierias
and Euphorbias: succulent species that are well adapted to
the warm and dry conditions in this area that also look interesting.
The chequerboard look on the surface of the planting beds
is achieved by the use of coloured mineral top dressing materials.

images: added April 2006
We
are grateful to the building owners and the British Columbia
branch of Initial Tropical Plants Canada for these images.
