Atriums in New Zealand office buildings

These images from New Zealand are contrasting in style.  The first picture features a built-in bed featuring a large specimen tree (Ficus benjamina 'Nitida').  It is a formal arrangement that is clearly meant as the focal pont of the space.

This picture, however, shows a different approach to planting.  Again, the style is very formal: large Dracaena marginata plants interspersed with smaller cycads (Cycas revoluta), all in high quality ceramic containers.  Here the plants are used to draw attention away from the busy street and they effectively mark a boundary with the outside World.
