Westminster
in Bloom: award for the Wellington Hospital

Rentokil
Tropical Plants, UK has added yet another award to its
ever-growing collection, winning first prize in the Commercial
Display category at the Westminster In Bloom competition.
The award was given for the plant specialist’s design,
installation and maintenance of the balcony displays at The
Wellington Hospital in London.
Mark Jones (left), a supervisor at Rentokil Tropical Plants,
who collected the award from The Lord Mayor of Westminster
City Council said: “It is an honour to receive such
an accolade. Rentokil Tropical Plants took over the contract
to maintain The Wellington Hospital in the early part of 2004,
so to be recognised for our hard work so soon is brilliant.”
“Our brief was to make the hospital as welcoming, visually
stunning and attractive as possible for the visitors and patients.
To do this we planted established evergreen shrubbery and
then seasonal bedding, which is changed twice a year to maintain
the continuity of colour. Our technician maintains the display
by ensuring that the plants are in a good state of health
and kept clean and tidy at all times.”
Alan Brownie, Manager of The Wellington Hospital added “Even
after Rentokil Tropical Plants' first few visits a major improvement
and impact was seen.”
