Ambius joins the
new UKGBC
Ambius,
the world’s largest single provider of plants and ambient
products that improve commercial environments, has today announced
its membership of the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC).
Ambius has long promoted the use of plants
in and around buildings but this formal partnership will allow
the company to showcase the sustainable role of greenery to
a broader audience of constructors, developers and building
managers.
Kenneth Freeman, International Technical Director for Ambius,
explains: “The benefits of greenery are well known to
Ambius, but less well understood by constructors,
developers and building managers. We hope that membership
of UKGBC will enable us to promote greater awareness of the
benefits of interior and exterior landscaping to a broader
audience.
“Ambius has always promoted sustainability
and environmental responsibility and our membership of the
UKGBC is a public declaration of our support for this movement.”
Ambius will also work with UKGBC to share
best practice and to campaign for plants to play a measurable
role in new green building rating schemes.
Other members of the UKGBC include HBOS, Willmott Dixon Construction,
Land Securities Group and Nationwide Building Society. Ambius
is also a member of the United States Green Building Council
and the Australian Green Building Council.
